We are in the midst of Holy Week. For Christians, this is the most important time of the church year. Every Holy Week, I am drawn back to the words of the Apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 15:3-4
“For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures..”
My prayer for us all this week is that we keep our eyes and our hearts focused on that which holds first importance. Here’s how the writer of Hebrews puts it in Hebrews 12:2.
“Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
In the death and resurrection of Jesus, our perspective changes and changes dramatically. Sin no longer holds us. Death does not bind us. And ultimately, God wipes away every tear from our eye.
I hope you will join us for this Holy Week journey. On a personal level, I encourage prayer and fasting. As a church, come to worship. NH Holy Week and Easter worship opportunities are listed below.
Join me in praying for a great harvest for the kingdom this week!!
