North Heights loves having our littlest ones in worship with us!
Perhaps you have played “Here we go ‘round the Mulberry Bush” with your child, saying “This is the way we fold our clothes…or wash our hands.” Worship is learned the same way, from the cradle, from your arms, in play, in song, and by imitating you! “This is the way we pray to God, pray to God, pray to God!”
Our Nursery provides another space for young ones (birth through age 3) to learn through play and imitation about God.
- Short story times, songs and finger-plays interspersed with the freedom to crawl, run and play create a natural environment for young children to learn that God is a part of all that they do.
- Trained and caring adults who encourage independence and discovery but are equally willing to scoop up a little one and hold them in their arms - creates a safe-place for our children to experience life in the family of God.
- Your child's well-being and safety mean a whole lot to us! Every adult and child receive a matching name tag for pick-up. You'll also get a page-number so we can connect mid-morning if needed. It's also great if you leave a mini-diaper-bag with us with the basics - diaper, wipes, and pre-mixed bottle/sippy (feel free to keep a larger bag with you).
- We love to learn more about your child, so feel free to share any helpful information with our caregivers. And, of course, for the health of all our children, children who have been ill in the past 24-hours need to remain in your arms.
In addition to the Nursery, Roseville offers a Nursing room and Arden Hills a parenting room - a place where parents and grandparents can hear the service but have greater freedom of movement.
New to our Nurseries: Brand New Evacuation-quality cribs, new high-chairs and a few new wood toys and the nativity sets for Christmas (though we're looking for more - you can help)!
How You Can Help
Our spaces are currently undergoing a makeover. You can help with donations of new or lightly-used:
- Fisher Price Little People toys
- Little Tikes playhouses, indoor, or outdoor toys
- Infant Swings or Saucers (in excellent condition)
- Glider Adult Rocking-Chairs
We are also hoping for individuals who can help us with these three projects:
- Help repainting walls
- Help replacing laminate counters
- Help refinishing wood shelves
