About the Clinic
Our purpose is to offer counseling to all, regardless of their ability to pay. The Truth of Jesus Christ is applied to life
on an individual basis. We are committed to giving counsel on the basis of the Truth as it is in Jesus, without legalism or condemnation, to all who seek help.
Staff
The counseling staff consists of men and women who have clearly sensed the call of God in this ministry to serve others.
They have intensive training in psychological understanding, as well as theological and spiritual counseling procedures, with a primary focus on the model of Misbelief Therapy as developed by Dr. William Backus, founder of North Heights Counseling Clinic. The clinic, though staffed by nonprofessional servants of Jesus, is directed and supervised by Pastor Steven Wiese, Associate Pastor at North Heights Lutheran Church and licensed psychologist in private practice. Pastor Wiese provides ongoing supervision and training for the clinic staff.
It is the aim of each staff member to offer the highest quality counseling services available, commensurate with his or her level of training, and with the assurance that Christian goals and values will govern all procedures.
Christian counseling, as practiced at North Heights Counseling Clinic, is the process of training troubled individuals to help themselves by learning how to be set free by the Truth.
Here, Christianity is not merely a source of ethical values, but Jesus, the Truth, is the remedy.
