The North Heights Young Adults Ministry is entering into a new season with excitement concerning our part in the larger body of North Heights. Our vision is to be a movement of young adults to reach the Twin Cities for the kingdom of God.
The specific language we use to shape our ministry is Grow, Gather, and Go. Growing and gathering will often go together. Discipleship groups, called Huddles, will be essential for us as young adults to encourage one another in personal growth and development of our relationship with God and with others. Growing as a large group will be key to building momentum and shifting our ministry forward into God’s purpose. As a group, we desire to grow in intimacy with Christ, live in the power of the Holy Spirit, and encourage each other to step into the call and destiny God has for each of our lives.
We grow and gather so that we can go. Everything we receive will be given away for the kingdom’s purposes. We are starting missional communities which basically entails doing our best to imitate Jesus. This is where our life in Christ and the lives of others intersect in a natural, life-giving way.
We will eat together, hang out together, and serve together, all for the purpose of loving God and loving others. God is really moving in the hearts of young adults in North Heights and in our cities and is releasing many into leadership, discipleship, and destiny. We cannot wait to see the plans that God will unfold in this coming year. We declare “Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” We want to see the Twin Cities visibly impacted by the kingdom of God and we’ll be happy to have you join us!
Missional communities are groups of people, the size of an extended family or 20–50 people, who intentionally lives out the three dimensions of Jesus’ life. To read more about the current missional communities that Young Adults are leading or are a part of at North Heights, click here.
